SCCLGA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
This year’s Junior Championship was played at Stirling Golf Club on the 27th and 28th July. Unfortunately due to girls’ prior commitments and covid track and trace only two girls were able to play. Eva Woodward (Linlithgow) came out on top wining the qualifier comfortable with Lara Douglas (Falkirk) winning the handicap in hot and tricky playing conditions.
In the final, Eva took an early lead winning the first hole, but Lara kept focused and at the turn was 1up. Eva won the 10th hole drawing the match up to all square before quickly get the match 2up for only one hole as Lara won the 14th. On the 18th tee, Lara had managed to level the match before winning her first Junior Championship with a par on the last to win at only age 13. Congratulations to both girls who played both days in fantastic spirts and displayed a good level of golf.
