SCCLGA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP 2018
SCCLGA Juniors Champs
This year’s Junior Championship took place at Stirling GC over 2 days of glorious sunshine. Tuesdays commenced with the qualifying stage where Natalie Fowler (Bathgate) took first place and top qualifying place for match play the following day. Eva Woodward (Linlithgow) came in with the best nett 73 earning herself a nice handicap cut.
The Wednesday began with Natalie receiving a “by” and Morgan Graham (Falkirk Carmuirs) and Katie Liddle (Glenbervie) battling it out for the final space in the afternoon's final. The match was highly contested throughout with the match never going about 1 or 2 up, with Morgan finally coming out on top.
The final in the afternoon was a thrilling match to watch. Morgan went 5 up through 7, but Natalie didn’t stop piling on the pressure, getting the match back to all square through 13. On the 17th Natalie holed a fantastic birdie putt to win her first Junior Championship 2&1. All the girls who competed should be highly commended on their golf and attitude throughout both days, which led to a fantastic friendly 2018 Championship.
Thanks must got to Stirling for their Hospitality, to the spectators for their support and to Claire (Captain) for the organisation and refereeing in the final.
